FROM A DIVERSE BEGINNING TO TECH EXCELLENCE

“I started as a freelance virtual assistant, also worked as a social media marketing specialist and here I am today, a Python developer. It’s a proof that tech is accessible to all.”

While working in marketing, she decided to learn technical skills because she wanted to impact the world and workforce through technology. This shows that anyone can have a career in tech, regardless of their background.

“When I started learning how to code, JavaScript was a challenge for me so instead of giving up, I decided to try Python. This made me realize that the industry leads to many roads but you don’t have to go through all the roads.”

“Documentations, community group chats, reddit and stack overflow are ways of keeping up with the latest tech trends and innovations.”

She emphasized that being a part of a tech community group chat enables you to have a network of people in the same field. So, when they share something new on LinkedIn or send a link to you to "check it out”, you stay updated and keep your skills razor-sharp.

MAKING PROFOUND IMPACTS IN THE WORLD THROUGH TECHNOLOGY.

” I take pride in helping over 100+ people to take the first step in writing code”

Aside from my curious and intellectual exploration nature, what drove me into the tech industry was my desire to impact the world. As a teacher, it gives me great joy and keeps me motivated to do more. I am the primary instructor at Guru Coding Academy. I am able to impact lives through my experience and knowledge and I am proud to say that a lot has been done already but there is still more work to be done. I intend to get better in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in the next few years on a personal level and help more women get started in programming.

ADVICE FOR ASPIRING TECH ENTHUSIASTS.

” Lean on the experiences of others for as much as possible. It will save you time in establishing stability in the field”

In this part, Ebubechukwu offers guidance to those embarking on their tech adventures. Ebubechukwu says, to do your research before you start, watch some "If I were starting xyz in 2023, here's what I would do" videos on YouTube. This may not get you as much value all together at once from them but it will save you the time of going far in a field like cybersecurity and only to find out you have strong curiosity and perfect ability for game development.

Also, she stresses the need for a work-life balance and to achieve that a work routine should be present and be adhered to. I don't give extreme emotional attachment to my job anymore so I can freely navigate my experiences, says Ebube.
